It’s the first day of spring, and that is ALWAYS a good thing after a long winter in New York. Lots of great projects are taking shape in the shop. The first run of VB’s has started now that I am back to business as usual after my long project last year. Feels great, heres some neck work so far on the 5, rough cutting and milling to dimension, glue ups etc… Lots of nice mahogany for the model 14’s and 15’s!
Here is a model 14 chambered semi hollow that I made for NYC guitarist Tom Chang. Tom is “out and about” on the New York scene with his group, it’s gonna be great to hear what happens on his new axe. He was looking for a guitar that had more archtop qualities and would bring different acoustic colors to compliment his tele setup. These guitars are great for that! We used some amazing figured honduras mahogany for the chambered back.
And last but not least here are some progress shots during the color stages on the smoke burst Model 14 I am working on for inventory. It has all Italian cello woods. Woooo thats some nice maple, yeow! The spruce top did some interesting things when stained too If you are interested in the specs on the guitar hit me an email!
Ok thats it! happy spring!!!
