Here’s a track i recorded the other week with my group. Its one of my original tunes yet to be titled. I have to say i have come up with a great recipe for laminate guitars, I really am pleased with the tone. Not all laminate plates are created equal! I use high quality maple plys for each layer, as well as a glue that dries glass hard. This guitar has a sitka spruce face veneer which i custom cut here at the shop. I also developed a carved spruce internal brace that really gives the guitar some body to the tone. Still very lightweight but not flimsy. Check it out!
My guitar:
Recorded with my personal 14″ laminate 7 string
Pickups- Dimarzio PAF-7’s DP759
Labella strings 13-56
Neck pickup used throughout with volume full on and tone slightly rolled back (not dark).
Roland CUBE-40XL 1×10″ 40 Watt Combo Amp with a touch of reverb from my Zoom G2.1NU pedal. (These amps are SO CHEAP but are great!! Super portable for schlepping to gigs)
Recorded at Tedesco studios / mixed at Chris Carroll’s Mantra Recording.
The players:
VB- guitar and composition
Eli Asher- Trumpet
Manu Koch- Piano and Rhodes
