Just finished up with the chambered axe- turned out great! Ultra light, a very air and open tone thanks to the chambers and lightweight wood species. I’d own one of these! Compact by jazz guitar standards (14″) but a fat sound. Silky smooth satin finish on the back- very smooth to play. I’m excited! AVAILABLE […]

Here’s pics of No 250’s mahogany components. I have a beautiful old block of quilted mahogany that I will be able to get the back sides and neck from as a matched set. Pictures do little justice so far- the figure will be pretty striking! I also have an old European cello top that will […]

No 250 for Ernie Burkhardt is underway! I changed the headstock theme to a Jean Larrivee inspired one, using a combination of materials. A couple late nights in design time and i was ready to cut out all the pieces and put it all together. Talk about FUN! First pics are the latest schematics for […]

I’ve reached my 250th guitar- my client Ernie Burkhardt reserved the number and asked for a special soundhole concept as well as a couple other nifty things. Here are my initial sketches for the guitar. Nothing set in stone, but I should be able to start soon!!! This one WILL be fun.

I’ve started a couple new projects- one is a further experiment on the “jazz solid” guitar I posted a couple weeks ago. This one has a chambered Spanish Cedar body though. It has a flame maple face veneered carved spruce top. Between the interior chambers and rear control routs its ULTRA lightweight. Keep an eye […]

So i’m in sort of a downtime while i wait for the current projects to finish curing. It takes the lacquer 10-15 days to fully harden up before it can be polished. I came up with an idea for a jazz oriented solid body that will be a cool alternative to my full size jazz […]

Just finished up with Noah’s guitar which will be shipping tomorrow AM. Whew what a long journey these guitars take. I’m stoked! Its an old school D’Angelico inspired 16″ archtop with his style of split block and burst. Big old sexy recurves on the edges. Freak’n sounds awesome- hopefully I did some justice to the […]
