Here’s another project I am cooking up. I’ve been seeing a huge trend in smaller guitars as the years pass. I get a lot of traveling / touring players who are in need of something lightweight and portable, but that can serve well as a jazz instrument with a big warm open and woody tone. My current chambered model 14 works great for this (here’s mine, and heres another recent one). But I am always tinkering and sketching, and this new one I am calling the “Ultra Thinline”. It has an even sleeker and compact 15″ x 1-1/4″ (380mm x 32mm) chambered body. I most likely will try the first one out of Honduras mahogany for the chambered back, and Italian spruce for the soundboard. I’m hoping to get these to come in at a very affordable price. This one will have the small 3×3 headstock i came up with a few years ago- straight string pull and compact. Tell me what you think of the design!
